For my birthday, my family and I went to Manali; a beautiful place in the state of Himachal Pradesh in India. Here are some photos that I took.
Lift Off
I managed to capture this shot just in time after lift off from Mumbai! The land, sea and sky. Unite despite your differences to create something wonderful.
Van Vihar National Park
Lots of deodar trees keep the area cool. Fresh air, a cool breeze and lots of greenery. Spot the rose-shaped pine cone! There is always room to grow and the sky’s the limit, look at the trees for inspiration. That’s me in the red hoodie trying to take an aesthetically pleasing photograph!
Banks of the Beas
I love the water. Maybe because of the way it flows: cutting through rocks, destroying obstacles. Or the way it rhythmically hugs the seashore as if assuring the sand that it will be back in no time. Or the way it stands still, rippling when a rock shatters its surface, and then going back to its calm stance as if to say, “You can try but you can’t break me.”
Diwali
Doesn’t that sparkler look like a phoenix? We are all meant to rise from the ashes. You are renewed and restored. Don’t give up.
Road to Rohtang
What’s around that bend? With its twists and turns, ups and downs, life is frustrating and tiring but also beautiful if you focus on the positive. Appreciate the good times and learn from the bad.
Rohtang Pass
There’s always going to be another mountain. Your struggles aren’t for nothing. You will stand on that mountain peak and you will shout, “I did it! I trudged through blizzards, waded through ice-cold rivers, and biting temperatures. I survived!” Keep climbing, you can do this!
National Highway 21
Letting go is difficult. I didn’t want to leave this lovely place but I had to go back home. Sometimes we have to let go of things, as appealing as they seem. Reality may be boring, but it is real.
