Weeds In My Garden

The weeds in my garden are overgrown.

I cut and cut but they keep popping up,

What’s the point of these pruning tools anymore?

I did not know that they were growing,

flourishing in hues of green, red and blue.

What else is my garden not showing?

I rolled up my shirt sleeves and thought with a huff

that enough is enough.

Putting on my gloves, I pulled out all the weeds

from the soil that is now free.

It is time to let go of toxic habits and people before they sap your time, energy and peace of mind.
